According to Honest Mattress Reviews, they tried to contact the company to find out if this dust was toxic or harmful. The Purple mattress uses a three-layer system, with the top being made of a “polymer comfort grid” that just happens to be covered in a white powder. After a hard-fought legal battle alongside Marc Randazza, a first-amendment attorney, HMR did manage to get the restraining order removed and stopped a Preliminary Injunction by Purple Mattresses.
Since the lawsuit started in March, Purple Mattress has even gone so far as to get a restraining order on the guys behind HMR. Honest Mattress Reviews, a YouTube channel and site, is being sued by the manufacturer after saying that the plastic pieces that chip off the mattress when you sleep could be harmful to your health. Online mattress retailer Purple i s suing a reviewer who posted about a “white powder” on their product that could be toxic. A sleeve covered in this "non-toxic" dust that can't be fun to sleep in.
